After a successful and eventful first season back at the Coddenham Centre, CAFC are proud winners of two cup finals … the league cup and the McDonald’s primary county cup.
The team who were out of action last season, also finished third in the league and are hoping to get promotion for next season. An amazing return.
The final for the primary cup was played at Colchester United stadium watched by an enthusiastic crowd, including Coddenham Centre Trustee & Treasurer, Ray Collins.
There was a worrying start to the evening with a torrential downpour and the game possibly being called off. CAFC Chair Tony Wall and other officials successfully swept the stadium pitch to clear the water so the game could go ahead!
It was a very exciting match with full time seeing us at 2-2. But CAFC experience showed in the penalty shoot out with the outcome being Coddenham winning 4-3 on penalties.
Chair Tony Wall said; ‘An absolute amazing experience for all the team. We look forward to next season and hope to see Coddenham residents at our home games continuing to cheeri us on!’
