Thursday 11th July 2024: This year will see the first Suffolk County Council’s Carbon Charter Summer event to be co-hosted by the Coddenham Centre.
Peter Frost, Suffolk County Council’s Environment Strategy Officer describes the event now in its eleventh year.
There will be keynote speakers, exhibitors and networking opportunities. There will also be an electric powered lorry and walks around the rewilding and biodiversity works that are in progress as well as a look around the Centre building itself.
With luck, the weather will be kind for the afternoon. With arrivals from 2:30 pm and expected departures from 5:30 pm, the full itinerary is as follows…

2:30pm : Guests start to arrive (Welcome drink)
3:00pm : Introduction by Peter Frost of Suffolk County Council
3:05pm : Welcome by host Andrew MacPherson, Chair of the Coddenham Centre
3:15pm : 1st Speaker Michael Strand of Suffolk Wildlife Trust
3:35pm : Speakers Jonathan Warby & Richard Riley of Volvo Trucks UK
4:00pm : Wrap up and award new accreditations
End of speeches and start of refreshments networking, chatting and electric vehicle viewing as applicable. Optional guided Biodiversity tour of grounds (please bring / wear appropriate footwear)
Refreshments will be catered by Alison’s Eatery with support from the Coddenham Centre’s ‘Cooked in Coddenham’ range.
5:10 – 6:00pm : Starting to close

This hall is an exemplar of solar, battery, heat pumps, insulation, EV charging and more which shows what can be achieved by a dedicated staff and a passionate community led by a visionary team.
